REVIEW: Royally Bitten by Lexi C. Foss
Once upon a time, humankind ruled the world while lycans and vampires lived in secret.
This is no longer that time.
Blood Day--the culmination of my training. The day I find out my fate.
I will not cry. I will not beg. I will remain calm.
Emotions are for the weak, and I am not weak.
My name is Rae and I will survive this.
But I never expected him to call my name...
Someone wants to frame me for immortal insanity? Be my guest, darling.
I'll just pick a fighter as my bait, a consort with a hint of defiance.
And when the culprit attempts to bite, I'll be the one who bites back.
Because no one touches what's mine, including the fiery redhead at my side.
Welcome to Kylan City.
I dare you all to come out and play.

I didn’t read the first book in this series and while I am a huge paranormal fan, I tend to stick with shifters only. So, I thought this would be a great read outside of my comfort zone. I went into it pretty sure I was going to hate it. My sister loves the whole vampire thing and told me to give it a try. There has only been one or two similar books that I have enjoyed so I was pleasantly surprised by this one.
Rae is doing whatever it takes to stay alive in a world that is run by paranormals. In her world humans are slaves bred to be servants of pain and pleasure. Sounds like a difficult world huh? She does make a mistake and that is by biting Kylan. that mistake may end up being the best thing that has ever happened to her. Kylan is a royal vampire whom everyone thinks is insane. He may very well be but then who knows. Maybe everyone else is insane.
As I said I was surprised at this book. It was well written, the characters drew me in and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I did give it 4.5 stars and that is because vampires just aren’t for me. I think it has to do with the whole biting and blood thing. That rating is personal for me. I highly recommend that you give this book and series a try. You may love it. I enjoyed it.
